Diego Castro is a Community and Engagement Intern at Active SGV. He was born in San Miguel, El Salvador and is passionate about immigrant justice, a passion he developed while in college. At Active SGV, Diego is part of the California Health Project and works towards raising COVID-19 awareness and connecting communities with resources. The most exciting part of his role at Active SGV is canvassing and speaking with new people every day, which allows him to get to know more about the communities.
Diego has a comprehensive educational background, having first attended Pasadena City College and then transferring to UC Irvine where he completed a double major in Political Science and Chicanx Latinx Studies.
Outside of work, Diego enjoys spending time in nature, analyzing movies and TV shows, and spending time with friends, family, and his two dogs. He is passionate about giving back to his community and is excited about his role at Active SGV, where he can make a difference.
