Are you ready for CicLAvia 5???  We hope so...

On Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 10am-3pm, the streets of Los Angeles are yet again being converted into a massive playground. Many would argue CicLAvia as LA's BEST BLOCK PARTY EVER!!!

Twice a year the streets of LA are closed to cars but open to people. What a concept, right? All are welcome to bike, run, jog, walk, skip, jump rope, walk a pet or partake in anything that tickles your fancy. We encourage everyone to join in the pura vida festivities.

If you do...be sure to stop by the BikeSGV Pit Stop at the Japanese American National Museum.  The pit stop will offer free services such as:
  • Bike tune-ups by Performance Bicycle - consisting of brake adjustments, derailleur adjustments, tire pressure checks and basic safety checks.
  • Secure bicycle parking and valet - dismount your bike here and enjoy lunch, a drink or a brisk walk around Little Tokyo.
  • Water & snacks - don't forget to hydrate and fuel your body.
  • Music by Drop that BEAT!
  • and much much more

In the spirit of thinking outside the box, BikeSGV challenges you, your family and friends to arrive to CicLAvia in anything but a car.  There are plenty of options available for arrival, all you have to do is commit, plan, be safe and enjoy ride. For more information or assistance in planning your trip please visit the Metro website or the BikeSGV Pit Stop google map.

We can't wait to see you at CicLAvia!

SGV Feeder Rides
Our friends at the East Side Bike Club will be leading their family-friendly feeder ride from the City of Alhambra. Rider will meet at El Hecho En Mexico (4976 Huntington Drive, El Sereno CA 90032) at 8:30am, and depart at 9am. Check out their Facebook event page for ride details and to RSVP.

The Arroyo Seco Foundation will also be leading a ride from Pasadena along the Arroyo Seco to Cornfield Historic Park and Chinatown. The ride will feature multiple pickup points in Pasadena and South Pasadena. Check out their website for ride details.
