Marlene is a Community Engagement Specialist with seven years of experience conducting community engagement throughout Los Angeles County. She currently serves as project manager for the Rosemead Blvd planning study in South El Monte, and supports outreach and engagement for the Bassett Avocado Heights Advanced Energy Community project. She has previously worked on the Liberty Hill emPower Program, VoteSGV, and co-led 2020 Census outreach in the SGV.
Her approach to community engagement centers on creating a trusting environment where residents can participate in ways that positively impact their community. She has a BA in History from California State University, Northridge.
In her spare time Marlene enjoys spending time in nature, riding her bicycle, camping, and walking around different LA neighborhoods identifying different architectural styles.
