A dedicated educator and long-time resident of Pomona, Stephanie Pinedo has shown an unwavering commitment to building community through active transportation and environmental stewardship. Her volunteer journey with ActiveSGV began when she returned to California after graduating from college on the East Coast. Determined to maintain her car-free lifestyle, Stephanie sought out a local community of cyclists and quickly became a familiar face at rides, events, and outreach activities.
Over the years, Stephanie has volunteered countless hours supporting programs that encourage people to walk, bike, and take transit. Her energy, kindness, and reliability have made her a trusted partner to both staff and fellow volunteers.
Stephanie embodies the spirit of the Brian Velez Memorial Award, honoring individuals who give their time, talents, and heart to advancing a healthier and more connected San Gabriel Valley. Her example reminds us that change is driven not only by policies and plans, but also by the everyday efforts of people who show up for their community.
Be part of the celebration as we honor Stephanie and other local leaders at Noche de las Luminarias. This special evening will bring together advocates, organizations, public agencies, and city staff who are working every day to create healthier, safer, and more connected communities across the San Gabriel Valley.
Join us on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Hurst Ranch Historical Center in West Covina and help mark 15 years of ActiveSGV’s impact. Get your tickets today: http://bit.ly/noche2025
