Noche 2025: Max Romero - Outstanding Local Advocate

Max Romero may have only recently graduated from high school, but his impact on public transit in the San Gabriel Valley is already remarkable.

A dedicated community leader, Max serves on Sierra Madre’s Public Transportation Subcommittee, where he played a key role in restoring Metro Line 268. The line now serves more than a quarter of a million rides annually. He also helped revamp Sierra Madre’s Gateway Coach shuttle service, making it more effective for local riders.

Max represents LA County’s 5th District on Metro’s Community Advisory Council, contributing to committees on operations, safety, and customer experience. His Station Revitalization Plan has brought safety, accessibility, and comfort improvements to key stations, including Memorial Park and Sierra Madre Villa.

Beyond his official roles, Max works with the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition to advocate for better mobility options and serves as a liaison to Metro. He collaborates regularly with transit agencies and elected officials across the San Gabriel Valley and greater Los Angeles region, always with the goal of making public transportation safer, more accessible, and more reliable for everyone.

Be part of the celebration as we honor Max and other local leaders at Noche de las Luminarias. This special evening will bring together advocates, organizations, public agencies, and city staff who are working every day to create healthier, safer, and more connected communities across the San Gabriel Valley.

Join us on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Hurst Ranch Historical Center in West Covina and help mark 15 years of ActiveSGV’s impact.
