Noche 2025 Honoree: Alana Johnson - Outstanding City Staff

Alana Johnson, this year’s Outstanding City Staff honoree at Noche de las Luminarias 2025, serves as the Transportation Services Manager for the City of Arcadia and has been a dedicated member of the City team for more than a decade. Since stepping into this role in 2023, she has focused on improving mobility, safety, and access through transportation initiatives that reflect the needs of the community.

Alana oversees Arcadia Transit, the City’s local transit system, and is currently leading a comprehensive assessment to explore ways to enhance service for residents. A key part of her work involves identifying and securing funding to move important transportation projects from concept to completion. Working closely with the City’s Engineering Division, she helps pursue and manage local, state, and federal grants that support long-term transportation goals. Most recently, she contributed to securing an additional $4.5 million for the Colorado Boulevard Complete Streets Project, which will bring significant safety and accessibility improvements to a central corridor in Arcadia.

With a career rooted in public service, including prior roles with both the City and County of Los Angeles, Alana brings a collaborative, community-first approach. She engages regularly with residents through public workshops, small group meetings, and stakeholder outreach to ensure that projects reflect local input and priorities. She is particularly committed to promoting equitable and sustainable transportation options, including walking, biking, and reliable public transportation.

Be part of the celebration as we honor Alana and other local leaders and advocates at Noche de las Luminarias. Join us on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Hurst Ranch Historical Center in West Covina and help mark 15 years of ActiveSGV’s impact.
