This program offers youth leadership development opportunities and the experience to guide community-based research to improve the infrastructure and active transportation accessibility throughout South El Monte. This five-week program will be both a virtual and in-person experience, starting on July 9, 2024, and concluding on August 8, 2024. Virtual sessions will occur weekly, along with corresponding field trips on the weekends.

Virtual Session topics include an introduction to Active Transportation (walking, biking, etc), Street Safety, the importance of data and social media, and public speaking.

In-Person activities include Bus/Metro rail tours, Group bike rides, and Walking tours.

ActiveSGV is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where all youth, including those with disabilities, can fully participate and thrive. Our program is committed to making reasonable accommodations to ensure students with disabilities have equal participation and access to this opportunity.
